WASHINGTON – Americans for Tax Fairness (ATF) and the Financial Accountability & Corporate Transparency (FACT) Coalition today released a letter signed by 37 organizations calling on members of the U.S. Senate to oppose a bill by Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO) that would provide a tax holiday for a portion of U.S. corporate profits held offshore.
Credit Suisse is in a lot of trouble over tens of thousands of offshore bank accounts that helped wealthy Americans dodge their U.S. taxes. The bank’s CEO, Brady Dougan, told a U.S. Senate Subcommittee this week that bank management wasn’t aware of the sketchy practices used to manage these accounts. [...]

Mitch McConnell (R-KY) telling reporters that Republicans support increasing the deficit to renew a package of more than 60 tax breaks, most of which benefit corporations.
